Mae Rim is Chiang Mai's gateway to the mountains. The main road heading north climbs steadily, offering increasingly dramatic views, cooler temperatures, and lush vegetation. Adventure tourism (ziplines, elephant parks, ATV trails) lines the highway, while side roads lead to quiet villages and hillside properties with panoramic valley views.
