Suthep

Suthep contains some of Chiang Mai's most recognizable urban neighborhoods and a dramatic transition into mountain foothills. University, medical, hospitality and visitor demand keeps the inner area active year-round. Huay Kaew Road, Suthep Road and Canal Road are the principal corridors. Traffic around Nimman, the university and airport-side junctions can be heavy, while hillside areas require a vehicle. Condos and apartments dominate near Nimman and the university; houses and boutique developments appear farther south and west. Check aircraft noise, smoke-season air quality, road gradient and parking.
